CHRISTIAN MEMES: DANK OR CRINGE WORTHY?

This webpage will examine memes with Christian themes. An internet meme is “An internet meme is a unit of information… which replicates by passing on via Internet… It can be passed on as an exact copy or can change and evolve.” (Diaz 2013).   For the purpose of this website the image macro meme format will be the centre of attention that is words and images. Stolen tweets and Tumblr posts that have been turned into Facebook and Reddit memes will also be examined.

This website will explore the contrast between memes made for fun and memes made with an agenda. This agenda usually involves evangelization or the tearing doing of other groups. The ability of Christian memes to bring people from different groups together verses the ability to sow discord via memes will also be explored on this website.
